In Meandering, Sofia Lemos points out the myth of the wet-dry divide, an idea rooted in Western cultural frameworks that separates fluidity from solidity. These pieces - photo, insulation, performance - explore this false binary by engaging material porosity in clay across state changes.  Used in performance with my project Vivid Windows (VVD WNDWS), this sculpture features a hydrophone to amplify sounds of clay (re)hydrating and percussive chains submerging in water. This work explores the dissolution of boundaries, capturing material permeability and re-centering ecological frames in our capitalistic cultural stories.
